Dry Bulk Storage Silos
Jumpform Method of Construction
Our dry bulk storage tanks are designed for economical storage of virtually any bulk granular materials. We can provide design-build, orconstruction-only services for a variety of structures using the jumpform method of construction. Jumpform is a method of constructionthat utilizes
reusable steel forms. This system can be used to repair existing silos and stack tubes by installing a “liner” or “jacket”, as well as constructing new structures. Our jumpform system uses 4′ x 4′panels and can be used for the following diameter forms: 20′ thru 80′diameters.
The crew sets up the “rig” that supports the wall forms first. Then, forms followed by the placement of the wall rebars and any embeds or blockouts that are requited at the particular elevation. Next, the inner wall forms are placed and secured and the concrete for that “course” is placed. This “course” will be 4′ at a time.
After the first “course” is poured, a second set of forms is placed on top of this and the above procedure is repeated. We typically carry 3 sets of the 4′ x 4′ system. After the full completement of the 3 sets of forms are in place, no additional forms are required. To pit an additional “course”, the lowermost set of forms is raised or “jumped” to the top of the structure and the whole procedure of placing outside forms, wall rebar, concrete and inside dorms is repeated until the required height is achieved. The jumpform method of construction allows more flexibility in scheduling work, therefore minimizing overtime and eliminating multiple shifts.
